Privacy Policy

Effective 24 July 2026

ghanateak.com is operated by Magnago Trading Ltd., trading as “Ghana Teak”, based in Accra, Ghana (“we”, “us”). We are a business-to-business timber exporter; this website exists to present our products and receive commercial inquiries. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and the rights you have over it. For anything data-related, contact us at info@ghanateak.com.

What we collect

Inquiry data. When you request a quote or contact us, we receive what you submit: your name, email address, and any company name, phone number, or specification text you choose to include. This is the only point where the site asks you for personal data.

Usage data. We run privacy-light, first-party analytics to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, the page you arrived from, and general technical information (browser type, country-level location, screen size). Two first-party cookies (_svid, _ssid) distinguish visits. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking networks, or cross-site profiling of any kind.

Correspondence. If you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we hold that correspondence. WhatsApp is a service of Meta Platforms and is governed by its own privacy terms — you choose whether to use it.

Why we use it

We use inquiry data to answer you, prepare quotations, and — if we do business — perform the resulting contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). We use usage data to keep the site working well and improve it (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)). We retain business records where law requires it (Art. 6(1)(c)). We do not sell personal data, and we do not send marketing to inquirers who have not asked for it.

Where it lives

Inquiry data is stored in our customer database hosted by Supabase (servers in Frankfurt, Germany, EU). Inquiry notification emails are delivered via Resend (EU region). The website itself is hosted by Vercel, whose global content network serves pages from locations near you and keeps standard technical server logs. These providers process data for us under their data-processing terms; none of them may use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Inquiries and business correspondence are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting business relationship, and thereafter as required by commercial record-keeping law. Analytics data is used in aggregate and not maintained as a profile of you.

Your rights

Under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and — for visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland — the GDPR and equivalent laws, you can ask us for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to or restrict our processing of it, and receive a copy in a portable format. Write to info@ghanateak.com and we will respond. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority or to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission.

Changes

If how the site handles data changes, this page changes with it — the effective date above always reflects the current version. Questions are welcome at any time: info@ghanateak.com.
